March already??

Wow! It's March already. We have many things coming up this month. Dr. Seuss day is tomorrow and we will be putting on something special for the kids in the afternoon.

We also have conferences and report cards that will be ready to come home soon. You will be getting your conference letter from your student in two weeks.

Spring break is also just around the corner.

Please be sure to check your student's supply of pencils. Many kids are telling me they do not have them.

Student SL reports that we are learning about stars in Science. We are also working hard on mulitplication and reading.

Student GB reports that she learned NEVER TO DRAW ON HER DESK! We are also learning about the solar system and reading Esperanza Rising.

Third Grade Happenings!

Good afternoon! I can hardly believe how much we have to do! There are so many things coming up. Please watch your student's folder for a notes home.

We have several birthdays coming up in the next 4 weeks, I think I counted 4!

We will also be celebrating Dr. Seuss day, having conferences and Spring Break is just around the corner.

Student HA reports that she learned to spell DISEASE this week. We have been working on work places in math and reading Esperanza Rising. We have also been working on learning about space in science.

Student JB says that we are learning astronomy in science. We have been looking at our shadows and measuring them. We have also been reading Esperanza Rising and studying math.

Reports from 3rd grade

I can hardly believe that January is gone and we are a week into February. I sent home a note about our Valentine's Day Party. Please let me know if it did not reach you. :)

Student KA reports that we are learning about space. She states that in math we are working on centers. We are reading a book called Esperanza Rising. She was also happy to report that we worked on making our Valentine boxes in Art.

Student RW states that we are learning to add larger numbers. We are also practicing our facts. In science, he reports that we have been watching the moon this week.

Report Cards

Good afternoon!

Report cards are coming home this afternoon. Your student and I went over each report card area and they are aware of their grades. I also like to have each student reflect on their own efforts by participating in the grading process.

So, you will see each student has also graded themselves in every subject. They graded themselves on their participation and effort. They were also supposed to write a reason supporting their self-given grade.

We had a great Gotcha Party! Thanks for all of you who donated items.

Student CL reports that we are working on homework in math and astronomy in science.

Student JB reports that we are working on multiplication and division in math. He also states that we are finishing reading Joshua T. Bates.

Oh gosh! I realized at the end of the day that I printed the WRONG date on our party reminders. The party is not, in fact, on the 25th of January....but tomorrow! yikes! I hope this does not throw anyone off...I have no one to blame other than the serious lack of sleep. (Courtesy of my 4 month old)
